Laura Sidler It is not exactly what you are looking for, but did you trying using PlantUML mindmaps (https://plantuml.com/mindmap-diagram) ? (Wiki.js supports PlantUML)

I ended up using the SVG, it was just for display purposes.
I didn't even know Wiki.js could support PlantUML. But I'll take your advice and use it next time, thanks :)

this feature is useful. I can see atom and vscode have the plugin to support it.
